The
YHAS project will support development of an
action plan for each school. The action plan
will serve as a foundation for future planning
and for development of the many supports needed
to build healthy active school environments
and communities.
Steps
in the process include:
- Invite general feedback regarding how to make
the school community healthier and more active.
Some schools will choose to survey parents,
others may establish a parent focus group,
and many schools will rely on teacher, administration,
and student input.
- Brainstorm and select school-specific Action
Plan initiatives and determine how to move
forward in the community.
- Develop Action Plan.
- Review Action Plan and select pilot project.
- Implement pilot project,
review, and suggest modifications to Action
Plan.
- Finalize Action Plan, including future phases
and initiatives.
