Goals
of the International Program:
-
To establish partnerships between local YMCAs in Canada
and YMCAs overseas for the purpose of mutual growth and
learning
-
To strengthen the capacities of overseas YMCAs to achieve
their mission and address the most serious human and social
development needs in their communities while making progress
towards self-reliance in leadership, program, planning
and finance
-
To increase international awareness, understanding and
engagement of YMCA members, participants, staff, volunteers
and the local community towards international development
-
To foster the leadership and involvement of young people
through experiential exchange programs
-
To become an increasingly effective agent in the development
of civil society in the global community.
