Youth Leadership

Leaders In Training Day Camp (13-15 yrs)
A three week program that will build leadership skills and provide a strong foundation for moving into a future position as camp counselor! Week one will be filled with leadership training and teambuilding initiatives, while the following two weeks will be spent in one of our on-site day camp programs building skills through hands on, experiential learning opportunities in the camp environment.

YMCA Geneva Park Youth Leadership
Leadership participants will be introduced to the following topics: problem solving skills, the importance of volunteerism, the importance of goal setting and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. In our one week Junior Leaders Program (ages 12-13), youth are introduced to basic leadership concepts. In our two week Young Leaders program (ages 14-15), youth build up to a five day canoe trip in Temagami. In our three week Advanced Leaders Program (ages 16-17), youth work on the Bronze Medallion/Cross and First Aid/CPR Certification. We also offer Outtripping programs for youth aged 13-15. Camp Kitchikewana Youth Leadership
Leadership participants will be introduced to the following topics: problem solving skills, the importance of volunteerism, the importance of goal setting and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. In addition, during the first year of the program (L1), youth participate in an extended outtrip and in advanced canoeing, lifesaving or sailing instruction. During the second year of the program (L2), youth will take their First Aid and CPR certification. Each program is 4 weeks, and youth must be 15 years old to qualify for L1 and must be 16 years old to qualify for L2. For more information, email camp_kitchikewana@ymca.ca.
