Driving Instructor – NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY / TRAINING PROVIDED

What You’ll Do:

  • Complete Ontario’s #1 Instructor Training Program — a four-week, full-time course that fully prepares you to teach.
  • Begin teaching practical, on-road driving lessons once certified.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Passion for driving and strong communication skills
  • Patience and a desire to help others succeed
  • Teaching or coaching experience is an asset, but not required

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a resident of Ontario and hold a current Driver’s Licence.
  • Minimum of 5 years (at the full “G” level) of driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check
  • Instructor licenses are obtained through the Young Drivers Instructor Training Course.
  • The training program runs for four weeks, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • There is no cost to applicants who are selected for the program.
  • Ability to follow the Young Drivers curriculum.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Friendly, cheerful and outgoing.
  • Soft skills required to succeed in this position include empathy, understanding, compassion, patience, etc.

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

  • Typically, YD Instructors work five days per week.
  • Four days during the week (including evenings)
  • 2 – 3 days would have to be the afternoon shift, 1 day on weekends.
  • Since many of our clients are High School students, our Driving Instructors need to be available to work afternoons & evenings until 9:00 pm on weekdays and one weekend day (your choice).

Competitive pay rates + km allowance

  • Possibility of advancement into a Classroom/Virtual Teacher role, Instructor Training Course Trainer, or YD Fleet Trainer.

  • Instructors are paid based on lessons delivered. Starting wage: $20/hour, with an increase to $22/hour after three months plus health benefits.
