Lead Farmhand

We’re seeking a reliable, experienced Senior Farmhand to lead daily operations at our busy, public-facing farm. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused – ideal for someone who takes pride in high standards, works well with people, and thrives in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead daily farm operations: fencing, infrastructure, tools, equipment
-Operate/maintain machinery: tractors, skid steers, backhoes, UTVs
-Manage small construction/repair projects
-Supervise and support junior farmhands; assist with hiring/training
-Coordinate with vendors and contractors
-Collaborate with Camp Director & Animal Care Manager to prep for public programs
-Assist with animal handling and vet visits
-Maintain safety, cleanliness, and guest readiness across the property

Requirements:
-5+ years of hands-on farm or rural property experience
-Skilled in fencing, carpentry, equipment use
-Staff supervision and contractor coordination experience
-Comfortable outdoors in all weather and around livestock
-Professional, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
-Valid G license and reliable transportation
-Must pass a criminal record check

Bonus Assets:
-Experience on guest-facing or high-standard farms
-First Aid/CPR & WHMIS certified
-Skilled in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair
-Passion for imaginative farm builds (e.g. mini shops, natural play areas)
