Position Overview

The Pharmacy Assistant will support the pharmacist in daily operations, including preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting patients at the counter. This role requires accuracy, strong organizational skills, and a customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, count, label, and package prescription medications.
• Enter and process prescriptions using pharmacy software (Kroll or equivalent).
• Assist patients with prescription pick-up and provide excellent customer service.
• Handle phone calls, patient inquiries, and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking.
• Process insurance claims and payments at the cash register.
• Ensure the pharmacy work area is clean, safe, and compliant with regulations.
• Support the pharmacist with administrative and operational tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy assistant or retail/healthcare experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software (Kroll preferred) is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
