Perhaps you have cared for a family member or have always wanted to work in the health care field; perhaps you’re new to the area or, alternatively perhaps early retirement has had an isolating effect. If you would like to help provide meaningful and rewarding assistance to senior’s in Parry Sound, this is the job for you! The Friends can help unlock and discover your passion for helping community seniors live independently in their homes. We have been serving West and East Parry Sound and Muskoka for over 3 decades.
The Friends is recruiting homemakers in the town of Parry Sound. We provide:
- comprehensive training,
- weekday work with flexible scheduling
- supportive supervisory staff
- a team environment.
- competitive wage and travel benefit
- additional training in a variety of programs to expand interests
Work requires staff travel in their car to individual homes. Services provided to seniors:
- light housekeeping such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning kitchen and bathroom areas, wash dishes, garbage removal etc
- meal planning and preparation
- shopping, laundry, changing bed linens
- care and cleaning of equipment
Our on-site, internal training program along with goal driven coaching, leadership from our supervisory team, hands on training from our capable and well seasoned staff team will all support your employment journey with us. This could lead to further education in the area of Personal Support Work…and beyond. We can assist with full sponsorship of that too!

Knowledge and Skill requirement:
- experience working with seniors and/or individuals with physical disabilities
- understanding and commitment to independent living
- excellent physical stamina
- experience and willingness to work as a team member
- ability to work with direction and independently
- verbal/written skills
- sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
- positive attitude
- vehicle available and valid insurance
