Position Overview: Warehouse Operator
Afternoon Shift Positions Available Immediately
$23.00 plus a $2.00 Shift Premium per hour
Available Immediately
1. Work will involve lifting and handling heavy items (boxes, etc.). using Lifting Devices Equipment &/or manually. Appropriate Lift Truck Operations training and certification will be provided.
2. Receiving and unloading frozen and dry ingredients, packaging, and other materials. Inspecting for damage and accuracy and ensuring all materials are safely and securely unloaded and moved to their appropriate storage location. Discrepancies or damage should be reported to the Warehouse Lead Hand or Manager.
3. Ability to operate a tight-turn forklift and other Lifting Devices safely and efficiently is a necessity for all warehouse staff. Proper training will be provided.
4. Preparation of raw materials, packaging, and other product components for production; identifying specified commodities in storage areas, staging, and moving them onto the production floor in a timely manner. Materials include fruit ingredients, sweetener ingredients, glass jars, cardboard, labels, caps, and various other production materials.
5. Prepare and pick outbound orders for shipment in accordance with pick lists and all customer-required packaging specifications as outlined on the pick list instructions.
6. Must have keen attention to detail, ensuring that all outbound orders, internal material transfers, rotation of inventory, and various other tasks are conducted with a high level of accuracy.
7. Assist in the loading of outbound trucks, ensuring that all pallets required to fill the order are properly loaded onto the equipment. Ensure that all outbound trucks are clean and free of damage before loading the shipment.
8. Maintain communication with the Warehouse Lead Hand or Manager for the timing of scheduled inbound and outbound shipments.
9. Organizing storage of all dry ingredients, packaging materials and finished goods inventories. Understand and have regard for FIFO (First In, First Out) principles ensuring that inventory is properly used and rotated.
10. Conduct regular stock checks and participate in inventory counts, as required.
11. Accurate and timely completion of Receiving and Shipping documents and other housekeeping logs required by the Global Food Safety Program.
12. Have a “safety first” approach to work, taking note of and reporting any food safety or health and safety hazards to the Warehouse Lead Hand or Manager.
13. Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse environment.
14. Ensure that all warehouse supplies are stocked and inform the Warehouse Lead Hand or Manager of any shortages BEFORE they run out.
15. Operate pallet and case wrapping equipment to ensure pallets are properly secured.
16. Familiarity and understanding of the Company’s customer list and finished products, including pallet/case patterns and pallet weights.
17. Work as a team player to create a good, safe working environment. Willingness to help team members across the organization when needed.
18. May assist with snow removal in the wintertime and yard work in the summertime, as required.
19. Adapt to a flexible work style and willingly assist with other functions where needed and as assigned. Hours may vary from time to time according to production schedules and delivery/shipping schedules. Shift work may be required as the Company adapts to change. Warehouse Operators are expected to be on-site and prepared for work at the start time designated by the Warehouse Lead Hand, Warehouse Manager, or other Senior Management.
