Seasonal Part-time Canteen Attendant

Join our team in the Parks & Recreation Department as a Seasonal Part-time Canteen Attendant from November 2025 – April 2026. The primary purpose of this role is to provide sales and service to the public at the Bobby Orr Community Centre Canteen.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 Provides excellent customer sales and service to the public in a friendly and helpful manner.
 Handles and prepares food and beverages.
 Handle money accurately and provides daily cash reconciliation records, and deposits daily sales into the safe at the end of each shift.
 Rotates and stocks canteen supplies and materials as directed.
 Maintains canteen in a clean and tidy condition. Is responsible for cleaning facility, tools, and equipment throughout the shift.
 Opens and closes the canteen as required.
 Reports any concerns regarding canteen facilities, stock, customers, etc. to the Canteen Supervisor.
 Performs such other related duties within the general parameters of this job description, as may reasonably be requested by the Canteen Supervisor or
Manger of Parks & Recreation.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
 Must be 16 years of age or older.
 Preference given to candidates with Food Handling Certifications or similar.
 Willing to attend training sessions including training relative to AODA Customer Service, and WHMIS.

Compensation:
This position is a Non-Union Part-time Seasonal position, with a 2025 job rate of $22.44 per hour less applicable deductions plus 4% vacation pay added to each paycheque..

Hours of Work:
This is a part-time, seasonal position responding to the Customer Service needs of the Canteen at the Bobby Orr Arena. The work schedule for this position varies, including evening and weekend shifts and if, when required to attend events with no guarantee of weekly hours.
