Community’s Generosity Shines, Raising $34,000 for the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka on Giving Tuesday

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is filled with gratitude following an incredible display of community support on Giving Tuesday, which raised $34,000 to help build vibrant and connected communities across Simcoe County, the District Municipality of Muskoka, and the District of Parry Sound.

This achievement was made possible through a partnership with the locally owned and operated Home Hardware Stores in our region. They generously matched community donations up to $6,300, effectively doubling the impact of dollars given and expanding access to essential YMCA programs.

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka extends its sincere thanks to Home Hardware Stores for their inspiring leadership, and to every individual who contributed to the campaign. Your generosity helps foster a place where everyone belongs.

The YMCA would like to thank the following Home Hardware Stores for their support:

  • Allandale Home Hardware Building Centre, Barrie
  • United Lumber Home Hardware Building Centre, Barrie
  • Home Hardware Building Centre, Collingwood
  • Home Building Centre, Gravenhurst
  • Home Hardware Building Centre, Midland
  • Home Hardware Building Centre, Orillia
  • Home Hardware, Parry Sound
  • Home Hardware, Stayner
  • Beach Builders Suppliers, Wasaga Beach

“Our local donors truly transform their communities. Together, we create meaningful experiences for individuals and families – moments that build confidence, spark connections, and foster belonging across the region,” said Jill Tettmann, President and CEO of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. “One in ten individuals relies on financial assistance to participate in YMCA programs. Your generosity directly supports those who need it most, ensuring everyone can access the vital services we offer.”

The funds raised will help expand access to YMCA programs and services, enabling more individuals and families to lead healthier, more connected lives across Simcoe County, the District Municipality of Muskoka, and the District of Parry Sound. This includes everything from child care and camp, to health and fitness, youth development, immigrant services, and employment support.

As the holiday season continues, the YMCA encourages everyone to consider supporting local charities that strengthen our communities. To learn more about how you can help the YMCA, or to make a donation, please visit www.GiveToTheY.ca.
