The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is proud to announce the release of its 2024-2025 Annual Report, spotlighting significant achievements over the past year in its mission to create vibrant, connected communities where everyone belongs.
Throughout the fiscal year, the charity organization served over 64,000 participants across Simcoe County, the District Municipality of Muskoka, and the District of Parry Sound through a comprehensive range of programs including health and fitness services, child care, immigrant and employment services, camping experiences, and youth development initiatives. The report demonstrates the YMCA’s unwavering commitment to removing barriers and ensuring access to life-changing programs for individuals and families throughout the region.
Key accomplishments detailed in the report include:
- $3.14 million donated through fundraising efforts and strategic campaigns, ensuring the continued support of our charitable efforts to ensure everyone can access YMCA programs and services.
- Welcoming and supporting 19,215 newcomers to our region.
- Supporting 156 youth to develop valuable skills, secure employment, and begin their leadership journeys.
- Teaching 8,517 individuals to swim at YMCA Health, Fitness, and Aquatic centres.
- Providing safe spaces to play, learn, and grow for more than 4,970 children in YMCA licensed Child Care and Before & After School Care programs.
- Supporting 4,631 people who accessed YMCA Employment and Learning Services.
- Providing financial assistance totalling $316,865.14 to 1,189 households, enabling access to YMCA health, fitness, aquatics, and camp programs.
- Dedicated volunteers devoted over 24,414 hours supporting YMCA programs.

The Annual Report also highlights the organization’s refreshed strategic plan, Forward, Together, which has been extended through 2026. The plan focuses on three key strategic directions: connecting people to meaningful experiences, cultivating a great place to work, and strengthening the legacy of the Y. Notable initiatives launched this year include the Youth Changemakers Leadership Institute, the Elder In-Residence program, and the innovative Second Tracks Program in partnership with Blue Mountain Resort and North Shore Ltd.
