Certified Personal Support Worker

Position Description:
Duties
• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
• Assist with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Support individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments through engaging activities and routines.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client conditions to supervisors.
Skills
• Proven experience in caregiving or home care settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with dementia care techniques and working with persons with disabilities is an asset.
• Strong skills in patient care, including knowledge of medication administration protocols.
• Experience in hospice care is beneficial for providing compassionate end-of-life support.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed to assist clients with mobility challenges.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• A caring attitude and a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of others through dedicated support.
Qualifications:
PSW certificate
Current First Aid certification
Up-to-date immunizations
TB test results
A Vulnerable Sector Check

Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour
