Position Description

Fowler is searching for licensed AZ or DZ drivers to operate tandem or triaxle snowplow, or combination plow/spreader units, for the winter season in the Parry Sound and MacTier areas.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Safely operate a spreader, plow wing, or combo unit for winter highway maintenance
  2. Perform pre-trip inspections, document fuel usage, and maintain accurate winter operations records
  3. Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including loaders, backhoes, and skid steers
  4. Use light-duty tools such as steamers, chainsaws, and gas-powered hand tools as required
  5. Conduct routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs as needed
  6. Follow all regulations, safety protocols, and contractual requirements
  7. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient operations
  8. Report any incidents, accidents, or traffic violations immediately
Position Requirements
  1. Must hold and maintain a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license and clean CVOR.
  2. OTM Book 7 Training is considered an asset.
  3. Experience in highway maintenance and plowing is considered an asset.
  4. A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
  5. Must be capable of self-loading the truck (training will be provided).
  6. Strong work ethic, reliable and highly motivated.
  7. Must be able to work with little supervision.
  8. Be capable of communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a prompt and courteous manner.
  9. Ability to follow instructions.
  10. Ability to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach, climb.
