Camp Kitchikewana Family Camp
The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is excited to welcome families to Beausoleil Island for a week of family fun! Our Camp Kitchikewana Family Camp programs offer a full schedule of family focused program options; you may choose to participate in all the programs, or you may choose a quieter schedule.
Family Camp is ideal for developing and strengthening relationships with family and friends while building meaningful memories together.
Family Camp operates at Camp Kitchikewana, located on Georgian Bay Islands National Park. Families will have the opportunity to explore the island and participate in fun family programming.
Each family occupies their own rustic wood cabin, outfitted with single bunk beds, shelving units, and electricity. Cabins are located moments away from centralized bathrooms with showers. All meals are provided and our Food Service team is able to accommodate most dietary needs.
2025 Family Campers will have the option to register on January 2, 2026. All other families will have the option to register on February 2, 2026. Please check this page for updates.

FAQs
Does the YMCA provide food?
The food is great! We provide delicious and nutritious meals with lots of options that both kids and adults love. Please let us know of any dietary requirements before you arrive at camp. We can accommodate most dietary requirements.
What activities are available during the day?
Throughout the day we run family-friendly drop-in programs. You can choose to attend as many or as few programs as you please. Programs are run by enthusiastic and qualified staff members.
Can I attend with just my spouse?
Family Camp defines a family as multi-generational, and preference is given to families fitting that description.
Can I bring my pet to Family Camp?
For a number of health and safety reasons, family pets are not allowed on Kitchi’s site. While there may be a few at camp that belong to full-time staff living on the island, we are unable to accommodate pet guests during any of our camp sessions. As much as we love them, we need to protect them, other guests, and the variety of Beausoleil Island wildlife from the current health and safety risks that can arise during their visit.
