About the job
Working as part of a small maintenance team at the Central North Correctional Centre, you will enjoy a variety of tasks as well as a steady work schedule (Mondays-Fridays). In this role you can expect to:
• Escort and help skilled tradespeople while they perform a variety of maintenance, renovation and repair tasks
• Perform general maintenance and building upkeep duties such as changing light bulbs, painting, etc.
• Operate and maintain various pumps/burners, water softeners, kitchen and grounds equipment
• Groundskeeping such as clearing snow and mowing grass
• Supervise inmate helpers and report their conduct

What you bring to the team
Mandatory:
• You are certified in one of the skilled trades as recognized by the Ontario Government, or you have
equivalent experience
• You have a current First Aid and Heartsaver certificate, or the ability to obtain these before hire

The Recreation Therapist is responsible to the Supervisor, Program & Support Services for the daily delivery of programming, therapy, spiritual and other support services ensuring an outstanding level of Resident programming is maintained and enhanced on a continuous basis, in accordance with the policies of the County and applicable legislation.
