Celebrating Over 100 Years Of Our Camp Kitchikewana Alumni
YMCA Camp Kitchikewana has been in operation since 1919, and we take pride in our camp’s rich history and tradition. With over 105 years of camp under our belt, YMCA Camp Kitchikewana has impacted thousands of campers, staff, volunteers, parents, families, donors, and friends. The camp has provided lifelong memories, connections, and experiences. We call our alumni the “Friends of Kitchikewana” to signify the wide variety of ways in which people are connected to the camp.
Each year we hold a number of events for the “Friends of Kitchikewana” to stay connected with the camp and each other, continuing to promote the camp’s values and ensuring that the camp can continue providing lifelong connections for the next 100 years.
Wall of Distinction Magazine
In celebration of the camp’s 100th anniversary, the Camp Kitchikewana Alumni Advisory Committee decided it was an appropriate time to recognize key contributors to the camp’s success over the first 100 years.
To commemorate the initial inductees we have published this special 100th Anniversary Wall of Distinction magazine highlighting past campers and staff who help keep the Kitchikewana spirit and values strong.
We were delighted to induct 5 new alumni into the Wall of Distinction during our 105th celebration in 2024.
100th Anniversary Endowment
For over 100 years, YMCA Camp Kitchikewana has been a place where traditions are passed down, lifelong friendships are made, and the magic of camp inspires generations. This enduring legacy has been made possible through the generosity of our alumni, their families, and friends who believe in what “Kitchi” means to so many.
In celebration of our 100th anniversary, we established the YMCA Camp Kitchikewana 100th Anniversary Endowment Fund as a way to preserve the camp experience for generations to come. The interest earned from this fund will be reinvested each year to enhance programs, improve equipment, and maintain our beloved camp facilities.
Thanks to the ongoing generosity of our camp community, the spirit of Kitchi will continue to thrive for the next 100 years—and beyond.
