Youth Outreach Programs
Youth in Transition Worker
Simcoe County
Using a strength-based, client-centred approach, the Youth-in-Transition Worker supports youth ages 16-24 years old, successfully transition out of the care of the Children’s Aid Society into adulthood. This program will help support youth identify, develop and implement a personal plan based on their goals for personal independence.
Delivered through an outreach model, youth can receive the following supports:
- Housing supports
- Education supports
- Employment services and training
- Life skills training – financial and household management
- Health and mental health services
- Access to legal resources
- Pro-social activities
- Safety planning
Community Youth Justice Program
Simcoe County
Through this program, we offer support to youth in conflict with the law across various communities of Simcoe County. Youth who are referred by their Probation Officer are offered a wide range of supports to assist in meeting their unique needs which often include counseling, for personal issues such as anger and stress management, self-esteem, drug/alcohol/substance abuse, as well as counselling to help youth with interpersonal struggles with peers, partners and family. Support is also provided for youth in the areas of life skills, leisure activities and independent living. This program is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.
