Our YMCA Summer Day Camp Programs offer children a vibrant and engaging environment where they can learn, play, and grow all summer long. Each week brings a new adventure, filled with creative activities, outdoor exploration, sports, team challenges, arts and crafts, and opportunities to make lasting friendships.

Whether your child is joining us for one week or the entire summer, our day camps promise a memorable experience packed with fun, learning, and unforgettable moments.

Summer Kids Club (ages 4-5)

YMCA Summer Kids Club Program

Participants will engage in a developmentally appropriate, play-based discovery program alongside our YMCA Child Care Leaders guided by the principles of our YMCA A Place to Connect curriculum.

Our YMCA Leaders offer experiences through a variety of activities both indoors and outdoors, generating ideas from listening to our Campers needs and interests. Open, planned and spontaneous opportunities for creativity, being active, hands-on learning and games in a co-operative playful environment provides our Campers with the opportunity for a fun-filled summer.

Multi Sports Camp

Earl Rowe Provincial Park

Campers will develop the fundamental skills needed to play a variety of sports including soccer, ball hockey, ultimate frisbee, and more! Emphasis on teamwork, fitness, fair play, and fun! Please note: This location can only be accessed through our provided bus transportation.

Ages: 6-12 years old

6:30am-9:00am & 4:00pm-6:00pm – Fee: $60/week ($48/short week – 1st and 6th week of camp).

Outdoor Explorers

Earl Rowe Provincial Park

Your nature enthusiasts will spend the week exploring nature through daily hikes, plant and vegetation identification, animal tracking, shelter building, and learning how to be a nature explorer while respecting wildlife and our beautiful forests. Nature enthusiasts will end the week by testing their nature survival skills and receive a nature explorer YMCA badge. Nature enthusiasts will have the opportunity to partake in traditional camp activities. Please note: This location can only be accessed through our provided bus transportation.

Ages: 6-12 years old

Cost: $345/week ($276/short week – 1st and 6th week of camp)

Campers will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of fun activities and develop their love of nature at Earl Rowe Provincial Park! Activities will include sports and games, arts and crafts, and daily exploration of the provincial park. Please note: This location can only be accessed through our provided bus transportation.

Campers will dedicate the first half of the day to exploring their creativity through a range of artistic mediums, guided by our experienced staff! In addition to this program, they will partake in an assortment of classic camp activities to enhance their experience.

Changemakers

Lakehead University

The Youth Changemaker Program is a dynamic one-week program designed to inspire and equip youth aged 9-15 with the tools to create meaningful change in their communities. In this transformative opportunity, youth will have the opportunity to co-design ideas for green, sustainable, peaceful, and just futures.

YMCA facilitators will encourage students to envision, create and enact initiatives and programs that tackle a community problem like homelessness, poverty, hunger, mental health, physical health, social isolation, environmental sustainability to increase the well-being of our communities. Students will use their voice, critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills to initiate change through a genuine desire to make a difference.

Based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, YMCA Vision 2030, Georgian College’s #ChangeTheNow program and using design thinking, students groups will select the topic and question they wish to answer. Throughout this process of putting their ideas into action, students will learn about confidence, motivation, influence, resilience, growth mindset, reframing failure and MORE!

Aquatics Camp

Collingwood YMCA

Campers receive a daily swim lesson, focused on building their aquatic skills with a certified Swim Instructor. On day one, campers will be assessed and divided by skill level. At the end of the week, campers will receive a report card indicating skill achievement. To compliment this program, campers will participate in a variety of traditional camp activities followed by a recreational swim time!

The main day camp area includes a spacious Quonset for shelter, equipped with picnic tables, an open field, and convenient access to washrooms.

Innisfil YMCA

Campers receive a daily swim lessons, focused on building their aquatic skills with a certified Swim Instructor. On day one, campers will be assessed and divided by skill level. At the end of the week, campers will receive a report card indicating skill achievement. To compliment this program, campers will participate in a variety of traditional camp activities followed by a recreational swim time!

Campers will dedicate the first half of the day to exploring their creativity through a range of artistic mediums, guided by our experienced staff! In addition to this program they will partake in an assortment of classic camp activities to enhance their experience.

Outdoor Variety Camp

Scanlon Creek Conservation Area

Day Camp offers campers opportunities to have new experiences, build skills, and make lasting friendships. Campers will participate in a wide variety of activities including sports and games, arts and crafts, and daily exploration of the natural conservation area. Please note: This location can only be accessed through our provided bus transportation.

About Scanlon Creek Conservation Area:

Scanlon Creek is a beautiful conservation area featuring outdoor hiking trails, a small creek, forest areas, a large shaded pavilion with picnic tables, and accessible washrooms. The main day camp area includes a large private shelter with picnic tables, forest and green space, and access to on-site trails. Campers will spend their full day outside enjoying the conservation area. Please note: This location can only be accessed through our provided bus transportation.

Inclusion Camps (ages 5-12)

Inclusion Camps

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is committed to working with families to support campers with special needs, whether developmental, physical, cognitive, emotional or behavioural. Inclusion support is facilitated by our inclusion counsellors who are youth with at least 1 year of experience working with children. They receive YMCA training and are not licensed professionals. Please note we do not offer personal care and campers should be able to use the toilet by themselves and dress and change themselves independently. When submitting your camp registration, please select your desired program and a member of the YMCA staff team will connect with you this spring to discuss inclusion supports and confirm your spot.

Extended Camp Care to Support Your Family’s Schedule

Extended camp care is offered before and after camp for an additional fee. This is a great option for families looking for more flexible drop off and pick up times. During extended care your camper will participate in supervised programming.

Extended care includes morning care from 6:30 am, 7:00 am, or 7:30 am, depending on the location, and goes until 9:00 am. In the afternoon, extended care is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Fee: $65/week ($52/short week – 1st and 6th week of camp)
Space is limited. Please register early.
Extended care is available at most locations.

Day Camp & Bus Stop Locations

Please take time to review basic bus safety with your camper if they will be riding the bus to and from camp. Our staff will review bus rules with campers and work to ensure all campers are safe on and around the bus. Unsafe bus behaviour may result in your camper no longer being able to ride the bus.

Camper Subsidy

The Children’s Services Division of the County of Simcoe, the District of Muskoka, and the District of Parry Sound provides child care subsidies to eligible families. The YMCA has secured purchase of service agreements allowing children to attend YMCA Child Care and Day Camp programs with the aid of subsidies. In order to apply for the subsidies, parents/guardians must be working, attending school or fulfilling a participation agreement with Ontario Works.

Financial Assistance

At the YMCA, no one gets turned away for their inability to pay. Through charitable donations, fundraising and other sources, we are able to offer financial assistance so that anyone in our communities can participate in YMCA programs.
