The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is calling on the community to come together and get active for their 12th annual Move to Give fundraising event, presented by PureHealth Pharmacy. This signature event invites individuals and families to participate in unique local activities to raise essential funds that ensure everyone in the community has access to vital YMCA programs and services.
From April 11 to 18, events will take place across YMCA Health, Fitness & Aquatics centres and Employment Service centres throughout the region in Collingwood, Gravenhurst, Innisfil, Huntsville, Midland, and Wasaga Beach. These events feature a diverse array of activities designed to engage participants of all ages and abilities, including pickleball tournaments, cycle-a-thons, swim-a-thons, and even rubber duck races.
At the heart of Move to Give is a commitment to inclusivity and support. The funds raised during this event are dedicated to the YMCA’s financial assistance program. This crucial initiative helps to break down financial barriers, ensuring that more people in the community can access health and fitness programs, aquatics, day camps, youth leadership programs, and community outreach supports.
“Move to Give is about so much more than physical activity. It is a collective effort to make sure that no one is left behind and that every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Kate Meeks, Senior Director of Philanthropy for the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
Meeks also highlighted the importance of support from sponsors as a vital component in making this event a success. “Every contribution is more than dollars; it’s an investment in the well-being of our community, propelling us towards a brighter and healthier future. We’re grateful to PureHealth Pharmacy for partnering with us as our Presenting Sponsor and helping us inspire thousands of people across Simcoe/Muskoka to move with purpose.”
PureHealth Pharmacy is a multi-generational, family-owned business who is deeply committed to making a difference in our community. “PureHealth Pharmacy is proud to support Move to Give and the important work the YMCA does across our region,” said Joseph Kamel, Director of Business Development & Pharmacist, PureHealth Pharmacy. “This campaign brings people together, encourages wellness, and makes a real difference for those who need the YMCA most.”
The YMCA invites community members, local businesses, schools, and organizations to participate in Move to Give by:
- Registering as an individual, family, or team
- Creating workplace challenges
- Hosting a movement-based fundraiser
- Donating to support a participant or team
- Becoming a sponsor
By moving with purpose, participants are helping to build a healthier, more connected Simcoe/Muskoka where everyone has the chance to shine. Whether it’s walking, running, swimming, cycling, or any other activity, every movement counts and every dollar raised helps ensure access to YMCA programs for people facing financial barriers.
