Opening Update
As we continue to put the finishing touches on the Tamack North Centre, it has become clear that we still need a little more time before we can welcome everyone inside. While the building is substantially complete, we want your first look at the Centre to be the full experience that we’ve been planning for. That means that the ceremonial opening and community open house planned for this Thursday, October 8 will be rescheduled to a future date.
We know many of you were looking forward to getting your first look inside the Centre, and we apologize that we won’t be able to welcome you in this week, but we are looking forward to doing just that very soon.
We don’t have a new opening date to share just yet. We’ll share an update next week after the Thanksgiving weekend as we continue to work toward opening.

Day Passes are a great way to visit the YMCA without a membership. See below for our Day Pass Rates, effective July 1, 2026. Taxes included where applicable.
- Child (0-12 yrs): $6.00 Please Note: Children under 10 must be directly accompanied by an adult or guardian over the age of 16 years. Swim Supervision Policy in effect.
- Youth (13-17 yrs): $6.00
- Young Adult (up to 29 yrs): $12.00
- Senior (60+ yrs): $11.00
- Adult (30 – 59 yrs): $16.00
- Family: $26.00 Please Note: Maximum of 2 adults, and their children under 17
At the Y, no one is turned away due to an inability to pay the full fee, thanks to our generous community donors. Explore our financial assistance program to learn more.

Here’s how to become a Member
There’s two ways to join the Tamarack North Centre!
Online: Purchase a membership online through the YMCA Online Portal. You’ll need to create an account (or sign in if you already have an account!). Once you are signed in, follow the instructions on screen to purchase the membership that’s right for you.
In-Person: Visit our Membership Sales Office, located at 60 James Street, Suite 303 (third floor) at the Parry Sound YMCA Employment Services Office. The Sales Office is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-7pm, and Saturdays from 8:30am-12:00pm through the month of September and up to October 3rd. You can book an appointment online to meet with staff and find the membership option that fits you.
*Please Note: Membership payments won’t be charged until the Centre opens.

How do YMCA Memberships work?
Our memberships are priced individually, with customized rates for adults, seniors, and children and youth. This flexible membership model lets you create the membership bundle that works for you. For every membership you add beyond your own – you save on rates! Plus, with our YMCA financial assistance program, cost isn’t a barrier to participation because we never turn away an interested member because of an inability to pay the full fee.
What's included in a YMCA membership?
Memberships are designed to be simple and all inclusive, with fitness, aquatics, programs, classes, and more included. Come for the things you already love and maybe discover something new along the way!
Where can I pick up my limited-edition merchandise and Founding Member card if I purchase a membership online?
Your Founding Member membership card and limited-edition merchandise will be available for pickup on our Grand Opening Day in October. Please stay tuned for official details regarding the date and time.
If you’d like to pick up your swag sooner, you’re welcome to book an appointment online to visit our Sales Office at 60 James Street, Suite 303 (third floor, Parry Sound YMCA Employment Services Office).
The Tamarack North Centre is still under active construction. Please do not come to the facility to pick up your membership package.
When can I register for swimming lessons?
Swimming lessons are included in your membership! Once you have your membership, registration for fall programs opens on Saturday, September 19 at 9:00am. The program schedule is live on our website now.
When does the Tamarack North Centre open?
Doors officially open on October 10! We can’t wait to welcome you. Stay tuned for details on a special community open house before doors open as well!
